- COURTESY INSPECTION FOUND: valve cover gasket is leaking need to change. Driver side inner door handle is damaged, recommend replace valve cover gasket, inner door handle, and recheck for any additional oil leaks.
- Disassembled as needed to gain access to and replace defective starter, reassemble and also replace the starter relay, vehicle is starting as designed at this time.
- VALVE COVER GASKET – Remove & Replace – 2.4L Eng – [Includes: Camshaft Covers on Over Head Cam Engines.]

Mileage179,163Service Date8/7/2026Services Performed- Inspected vehicle for intermittent stall, Grand vehicle and shop for over 30 minutes and no stall occurred, perform test drive and less than 2 miles into test drive vehicle shut off and at times would crank over at other times would only click when trying to start and then after 15 minutes of sitting, he off engine would restart and ran again he was able to get back to shop and again ran for several hours and let heat soak at times and could not duplicate customer concern although due to the fact that loss of communication code with many modules, would return shortly after clearing codes is an indication of bus communication failure do, due to the complexity of diagnosis for this type of problem recommend Highline Auto Electric for further diagnosis and repair.

2016 Hyundai Elantra
Mileage116,757Service Date8/6/2026Services Performed- Inspected vehicle for installing at times, upon first test drive tech was unable to duplicate customer concern although did notice excessive growling noises coming from transaxle, return to shop and performed under hood inspection of tune-up parts and throttle body and all look like new, drained off small sample of transaxle fluid and is black and contaminated with metallic substance indicating internal transaxle problems, perform second test drive and was able to duplicate customer concern and what is happening is transmission is sticking in gear instead of downshifting to neutral at stops and causing engine to stall. Recommend replace transmission/transaxle assembly, replace transmission fluid cooler, and retest.

Rear brake is 8 driver side, and passenger side 8 mm outer pad and 6 mm inner pad, indicating possible sticking caliper or caliper slide pins most likely this is the source of the intermittent brake squeal, would recommend rear brake service and possibly calipers upon further inspection. Further inspection showed parking brake feature of calipers inoperative recommend replacement of calipers as well as rear brake pads and rotors.
