  • Tested and found no power at the blower motor resistor, or the blower motor switch. Verified that the fuses and relays are good. It is suspected that there maybe an open wire in the system but further diagnostics are needed. When observing the heater fan switch with the scan tool there is no indication of switch position change when the switch is manually operated.
  • Inspected and found that there is good power out of the under hood fuse box but no power to the blower motor assembly also found that there is no power at the HVAC control module. I started tracing wires from the under hood fuse box and found that the bulk head connector under the drivers side of the dash was loose and not making good contact (likely from when radio was installed?) Secured all loose connections and now heater system is working as designed

  • Vehicle was pressure tested to determine source of coolant leak as coolant was very low in the reservoir. Leak is coming from the shaft bearing of the water pump. Recommend replacement of serpentine belt due to soaking with coolant. Water pump must be replaced. Also recommend engine block testing after repairs are made to rule out possible damage to head gasket as it was reported that the temperature gauge was pegged.
  • COURTESY INSPECTION FOUND:
  • Water pump replaced as approved. Recommend at least two coolant flushes at this time to attempt to remove contamination from coolant. Contamination is suspected to be automatic transmission fluid because the foamy coolant is pink in color. It is a possibility that when the transmission was topped off as noted by customer that the coolant reservoir was the destination of the automatic transmission fluid.
